Privacy Notice
Last updated: May 4, 2026
TCDS Insurance is a licensed Alabama insurance producer. This notice describes how we collect, use, share, and protect the nonpublic personal information (“NPI”) of the buyers, homeowners, lenders, and real-estate agents who use our services.
Information we collect
- From you directly — name, email, phone, mailing address, property address, date of birth (when needed for a quote), and any documents you upload (loan applications, appraisals, prior dec pages).
- From your lender or real-estate agent — when a partner refers you to us, we receive the borrower contact information they provided in their portal.
- From third parties for quoting— we share the information above with carriers and rating engines we’re actively quoting (Quotamation, carrier APIs) so they can return a premium estimate. This sharing is governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act “processing” exception.
- Automatically — IP address, browser type, and usage logs sufficient to operate the site and detect abuse.
How we use your information
- To prepare quotes, bind policies, and service in-force coverage.
- To communicate with you about your quote, policy, or claim.
- To deliver a binder, dec page, or evidence-of-insurance to your lender’s loan-ops team when you authorize it (explicit or implicit through the referral itself).
- To detect fraud, secure our systems, and meet our record-retention obligations under Alabama insurance law.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information for marketing.
- We do not share borrower information with anyone outside the carriers we’re actively quoting on your behalf.
- We do not pay your lender or realtor to refer you to us, and we do not share commissions, dec pages, or premium data with them outside what’s necessary to close your loan.
How we protect it
See our security overview for the technical controls — Postgres row-level security, Merkle-chain audit ledger, TLS 1.2+ in transit, encryption at rest, MFA + Microsoft 365 SSO, PII redaction at every AI boundary.
Your choices
- You may request a copy of the NPI we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to record-retention obligations under Alabama insurance law).
- You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. Email us or click unsubscribe in any marketing message.
- You may decline to provide information needed for a quote, but doing so may limit our ability to quote your home accurately.
Cookies & tracking
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies for session management and CSRF protection, plus first-party analytics for site performance. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
